Diesel Mechanic Apprentice

Williams Dedicated is searching for a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice to join our talented Service team in Normal, IL! No experience is necessary. The ideal candidate for this position would be reliable, eager to learn, and self-motivated. Williams Dedicated will supply the training and the beginnings of a toolbox.

 Shift:

• 2nd Shift
• Monday - Friday
• 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Job Duties of a Diesel Mechanic:

• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Keep equipment available by completing preventive maintenance schedules and installing component and part upgrades.
• Correct vehicle problems by removing, repairing, adjusting, assembling, disassembling, and replacing assemblies such as power and drive trains, air brake components, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emissions, steering, hydraulics, oil systems, clutches, and traction units.
• Troubleshooting diesel engine system with ECM diagnostic programs and other troubleshooting techniques preferred (i.e., Cummins Insite, Davie 4, and Tech Tool)
• Knowledge of the DPF System
• Welding

Position Requirements:

• A Valid Driver's License in good standing is REQUIRED!
• Due to safety-sensitive nature of this position, applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen
