Chestnut Health Systems Providing NARCAN (Naloxone) Training to Combat Opioid Overdose

BLOOMINGTON, IL – Chestnut Health Systems™ will provide a free NARCAN® (Naloxone) training in an effort to address the issue of opioid overdoses in the community. Join us on January 8 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Chestnut Family Health Center, 702 West Chestnut Street, Bloomington.

This training will equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively to overdose situations. NARCAN® (Naloxone) is a non-prescription medication that can block or reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

The program is open to all ages, regardless of prior knowledge or experience, and will provide participants with essential information about the opioid epidemic as well as why and how to administer NARCAN® (Naloxone). Participants under the age of 18 require parent or guardian permission.

Free resources will be provided, including NARCAN® (Naloxone), fentanyl test kits, and prescription drug deactivation bags.
