Business Education Presentation: Building Your Business with DEI in Mind
Presenter: Dr. Kate Browne from Heartland Community College
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI) may seem like the newest business buzzword that comes with yet another thing to put on your to do list. But defining what it means to be a part of your business is vital for every operational area. In this talk, Dr. Kate Herald Browne will explain the basics of DEIB and how creating a culture of belonging can positively impact your entire business. Attendees will be able to identify and implement the next step that will make their workplace more welcoming.
Bio
Dr. Kate Herald Browne is the Director of Online Learning and Instructional Technologies at Heartland Community College and teaches in the Women's and Gender Studies program at Bradley University. Kate is also a member of the Equity Connection DEIB task force with the McLean County Chamber of Commerce, the curator and lead speaker coach for TEDxNormal, and a Nexus Family Healing board member. Kate's writing on inclusive storytelling has appeared in Runner's World, Refinery29, and SELF magazine.
