About Us

The Community Health Care Clinic provides medical services and other resources to uninsured and underinsured residents of McLean County. The Clinic provides comprehensive primary care, dental, and behavioral health counseling services as well as prescription medications to address each patient's needs, all at no cost.

Qualifying patients are the ''working poor'' adult residents of McLean County with household incomes at or below 185% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Patients are either uninsured or may have access to insurance but cannot afford to use it.

The Community Health Care Clinic is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates almost exclusively on private funds, including individual and business donations and private grants.

The Clinic was founded 30 years ago to fill a gap in medical care for individuals who lacked health insurance and could not afford routine health care. The Clinic was created as a joint venture between OSF and Carle BroMenn medical centers to address emergency rooms being utilized by individuals with no other access to health care. The existence of the Clinic eases the burden on local emergency rooms and provides a comprehensive solution to the medically underserved residents of McLean County.

The Community Health Care Clinic's Mission is to provide quality healthcare to the medically underserved of McLean County through the operation of a free clinic.
