With COVID-19 cases surging in numbers, the legal implications of face mask policies for businesses have taken center stage again.
The major issue facing many businesses is how to safely enforce a mask policy.
Lorna Geiler with Meyer Capel Law will present a seminar on how you as a business can enforce mask policies and how to train your employees to communicate the policies and to address situations to limit the risk of it escalating.
Lorna Geiler brings Meyer Capel the benefits of a distinguished academic career. A 1986 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law and a 1983 cum laude graduate of Illinois State University, she joined the firm in 1988.
Since 1991, Lorna has represented employers before the Illinois Human Rights Commission, the Iowa Human Rights Commission, the Wisconsin Department of Equal Rights, the Pennsylvania Human Rights Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Illinois Education Labor Relations Board, the Illinois State Labor Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board. She has also conducted in-house training for the State and local government investigators and commissioners.
In addition, she has practiced before the Trial, Appellate, and Supreme Courts for the State of Illinois and the Trial and Appellate Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois and the Southern District of Indiana. She has represented employers in union negotiations, grievances and unfair labor practices, as well as in union organization campaigns.
Lorna consistently represents public entities in compliance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act and the Freedom of Information Act as well as other issues unique to governmental and quasi-governmental bodies.
